The most important event devoted to the biomedical sector
EBHT 2020 is the only event of the year fully dedicated to Innovation and Smart Health and it is accredited as the Satellite Event of Euroscience Open Forum (briefly ESOF 2020).
In fact, EBHT will take place the 3rd and 4th September 2020, concurrently with ESOF 2020 and it will be located in Porto Vecchio of Trieste, by the Centrale Idrodinamica (Hydrodynamic Power Plant), in front of Magazzino 27, the entrance of ESOF 2020.
EBHT 2020 constitutes a unique opportunity for our businesses, in terms of presence and visibility. During congress sessions the enterprises will showcase their own research and development projects. These projects, financed at an European, national, regional and transboundary level, are being carried out with the involvement of Universities, Research Entities, Hospitals and other territorial socio-healthcare entities.
Our plenary sessions will be focused on Research, Education, Finance and Politics of Innovation for Health. It will be possible to participate to EBHT 2020 in two ways at the same time: both physical and virtual, thanks to a new platform.
It is the first time that our manifestation is making use of such advanced computer technologies.
This platform will contribute to overcome all time and physical barriers and will endorse access to a national and international audience, allowing to extend our event until the 11th September 2020, thus increasing visibility of public and private entities, which will participate.
The chances to develop business and scientific relationships will be implemented by one-to-one meetings, approached in various ways and with personalized schedules, in accordance to your demands and those of your interlocutors.
It will be possible to view the presentations of the companies and their projects through streaming and live sessions.
All the activities will be supported by an innovative campaign of digital marketing, which has been created specifically for this event.
This unique exhibition has multiple goals:
✔️ Innovating Thus favoring ongoing scientific research for innovative technological and process solutions in the field of healthcare, as well as favoring a model of social territorial development based on research and innovation in the healthcare sector in order to create new business opportunities.
✔️ Connecting The industrial sector of BioHighTech innovative enterprises connects Universities, Research Centers, Healthcare structures, Hospitals, Health and Social services systems, Nursing homes, financial, training and communication institutions, operating in the field of Health.
✔️ Promoting Promote and develop research and innovation projects in the sector of life and medical science, with European funding, between Universities, Research, Health and Social services systems of Central and Eastern Europe and Balkan areas, in order to develop research projects in the field of crossborder medical science.
✔️ Becoming An annual event, where institutions can meet, share and discover new ideas and concepts, also in the field of digital innovation. An event, where national and regional institutions, as well as cross border institutions from Central and Easter Europe and the Balkan area can develop and promote new technologies, applications and processes in order to improve the performance of the Health and Social services systems.
This year Trieste is the European Science Capital in 2020 (ESOF 2020), where science to business innovation themes will be developed, such as Smart Health.
Trieste lies at the heart of the largest concentration, at national and international level, of operators in the biotech sector:
◾because since 1964 it attracts, promotes, creates and hosts the widest number of national and international institutions, which are main sector players: the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), now the Abdus Salam International Centre; the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA); the AREA Science Park; the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), with branch locations also in New Delhi and Cape Town; the CBM – Molecular Biomedicine District of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, managing body of the Cluster Smart Health FVG; the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS); the Immaginario Scientifico Laboratory now called Science Centre Immaginario Scientifico; FIT “Fondazione Internazionale Trieste”; ELETTRA Sincrotrone Trieste, I.R.C.C.S Burlo Garofolo; University of Trieste
◾because it hosts the headquarters of the Cluster Smart Health, which can rely on a favourable ecosystem in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, comprising over 150 companies working in the biomedical, biotechnology and bioinformatics fields, boasting overall annual sales of over 800 million Euro and more than 5.000 employed workers.
◾because, owing to its privileged geographic location and strategic, political and economic position, the city favours direct contact with Central and Eastern European countries, with which Trieste keeps long standing fruitful institutional and economic relations, and which have allowed the city, over the past few years, to act as a bridge towards Western Europe and the European Union.
◾because it hosts the headquarters of the Network of innovative companies, that operate in Smart Health.
